MOQ Planning for Custom Combat Sports Gear

TitanWrap Production Team · 21 July 2026 · 6 min read

MOQ planning is not only about the minimum number on a quote. It is about how that quantity is divided across sizes, colors, weights, labels and packaging formats. A simple 100-piece order can become complicated if it is split into too many variants.

Start by identifying the core seller. For gloves, that may be one weight and one colorway. For apparel, it may be a central size curve in one fabric. Build the first order around the product most likely to move, then add variants only where there is a clear reason.

Every color can require separate material planning and sample approval. Every size needs labels and packing control. Every artwork change can add review time. Keep the first production run focused enough that quality control remains practical.

MOQ should also be connected to cash flow. A higher quantity can reduce unit cost, but slow-moving inventory can hurt a young brand. The best number is the one that supports production while preserving the ability to reorder based on evidence.

Ask the manufacturer how variants affect the quote. Sometimes a small simplification in color or packaging can make the order easier to produce and easier to manage after delivery.
