Fightwear Colorway Planning for Custom Product Ranges

Colorways help a fightwear range feel intentional, but they can also multiply complexity quickly. Every color combination can affect material sourcing, artwork approval, labels, photos and inventory. A strong range uses color to guide buyers rather than overwhelm them.
Start with one core identity colorway. This should be the combination most closely tied to the brand. Use it across hero products like gloves, wraps, shorts or rash guards so the launch feels coordinated.
Add secondary colorways only when they serve a buyer segment or sales channel. A gym team color, a premium black edition or a seasonal drop can make sense. Random color additions usually create slower-moving stock.
Color references should be specific. Use Pantone references, physical swatches or approved sample photos where possible. Screen colors alone can create mismatched expectations.
When in doubt, simplify the first order. A focused color story is easier to manufacture, photograph, sell and reorder.
