Protective Gear Sampling Checklist for Buyers

Protective gear samples should be tested for fit and function, not only photographed. A head guard or sparring accessory can look strong on a table but feel unstable during movement. Sample review should include real training positions.
Check fit across the intended size range. Pressure points, shifting, strap reach and visibility can change between users. If a product is planned for youth and adult sizes, review those groups separately.
Padding should feel consistent across panels. Areas around cheeks, forehead, chin and ears need attention depending on the design. Uneven padding can affect comfort and perceived quality.
Closure systems should be easy to adjust and secure during motion. Ask testers to put the sample on and remove it repeatedly, then comment on usability. A product that requires too much help may frustrate gym users.
Record all comments against the sample version. If revisions are approved, keep the revised sample and written notes together for production reference.
