Head Guard Fit and Coverage Guide for Custom Protective Gear

TitanWrap Production Team · 25 July 2026 · 7 min read

A head guard has to balance protection, visibility and comfort. More coverage is not automatically better if the athlete cannot see clearly or adjust the fit. Buyers should treat head guard development as a fit project as much as a padding project.

Coverage choices should match the intended training style. Cheek protection, chin coverage, forehead padding and ear areas all change the feel of the product. The brief should identify whether the guard is for boxing, kickboxing, MMA-style sparring or general gym programs.

Closure and adjustment systems deserve close review. A guard that shifts during rounds can frustrate athletes and coaches. Sample testing should include movement, sweat, repeated removal and different head shapes.

Visibility should be checked in stance, not only in product photos. Athletes need to see incoming shots, coach signals and foot position. Ask testers to comment on blind spots and pressure points.

For private-label programs, keep product claims careful and accurate. Describe construction and intended use clearly without overstating certification or protection claims that have not been formally verified.
