Compression Wear Fit Guide for Combat Sports Brands

Compression wear is judged quickly by athletes. If it rides up, twists, pinches or becomes transparent under stretch, the branding will not save it. Fit planning should sit at the center of every no-gi apparel brief.
Start with the intended intensity. Competition grappling, daily academy training and general fitness all place different demands on fabric recovery and pattern shape. A tighter fit may suit serious grapplers, while a slightly more relaxed cut can work better for broad team orders.
Fabric should be reviewed for stretch, opacity, hand feel and recovery after washing. A fabric can look good flat but behave differently on the body. Sample testing should include movement, grip contact and repeated wear.
Seam placement matters because athletes move through awkward angles. Flatlock or clean seam construction can improve comfort, but the exact solution depends on the garment and target price. Ask for seam details in the specification.
Clear size charts reduce returns and team-order confusion. Publish body measurements and fit notes so coaches and buyers can collect accurate size requests before production.
