Rash Guard Fabric 101: Compression, Moisture-Wicking and Durability

Rash guards are built from stretch-knit performance fabric, usually a polyester-spandex or nylon-spandex blend. The exact ratio of these fibres affects how much stretch, compression and durability the finished garment has.
A higher spandex content gives more compression and stretch, which is useful for a close, supportive fit during grappling — but too much can reduce the fabric's long-term shape retention through repeated washing.
Moisture-wicking finishes help pull sweat away from the skin to the fabric surface, where it evaporates faster. This matters more for longer training sessions and hot climates than for occasional, short use.
For team or academy orders, fabric weight is also worth specifying — lighter fabrics suit warm-climate training, while a slightly heavier knit can hold up better to the abrasion of regular grappling. This is exactly the kind of detail we confirm during sampling, so the fabric matches how your members actually train.
